Community Cohesion Programmes
The promotion of community cohesion amongst local communities depends on the actions of all of us as active citizens. Local, national and global communities are constantly changing and in order to avoid conflict we must recognise the cultural and economic value that diversity brings to our local communities. This way we can all work towards reducing discrimination and prejudice, be it based on race, religion, sexuality, gender, disability or any other identity.
Human Relations Network has a national reputation for our work, both at a local and international level, for work community cohesion and anti-hate crime initiatives, such as:
- This is Where I Live-A powerful video-diary of a young Asian man who explores what’s meant by the term ‘Community Cohesion’ in his hometown of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. Race, religion and disability are just some of the areas covered in the video/DVD
- Resolving Differences
- Benchmarking the Community Cohesion Pathfinder Programme
